Zara Navy Blue Soft Leather Moccasin

Moccasin. Isn’t that a lovely word? It isn’t one is personally use to describe these Navy flats however, illustrated by the fact it took me ages to find a stock photo of them on google as I was searching for loafer/ flat/ slipper.

Nevertheless these have been a good edition to my wardrobe over the last few months and I can see them being even more useful as we move into spring and the bare feet can come out.

I know suede isn’t the most practice of shoe fabrics, especially in the winter, but for today, where I’ll be inside most of the time, they work well with my navy & black ensemble.

Today I’m wearing:
Navy sweater – Uniqlo Men’s
Navy & Black lace skirt (one of my sale buys)
Art Deco style necklace – Lulu Frost for Whistles

It’s date night tonight and Hubbie and I are off to Sake No Hana on a Toptable deal, but not before a drink at the top of his office building (taking advantage before it’s turned into flats!). Another restaurant ticked off the London must eat at list. I do love a deal!

Enjoy your Tuesdays all! 🙂

M&S Almond Toe Slipper flats in Red Suede

I’m having a bit of a red moment. I’m not sure whether its because of the season, a little nod towards Christmas; because its grey and dull outside; or because I recently rediscovered a booklet of colours that suit me that I was given after a group ColourMeBeautiful session. Whichever way, I love it! Last week’s outfit was the start.

Plus the Red Cups are back!! 🙂

Red is such a rich colour and as my Mum’s favourite, has always featured highly in my wardrobe. It can brighten up an otherwise somber outfit, or can be head turning worn as a block.

These shoes are a great way to use it as a pick me up, especially as today’s outfit is mainly navy. This style of shoe is also great. Slightly pointed to elongate the feet but not too much so that toes are squashed.

Today I’m wearing:
Navy Merino Crew Neck Jumper – Uniqlo (Men’s)
Printed Trousers – Gap via eBay

I LOVE the extra-fine Merino men’s jumpers from Uniqlo. Size Small is the perfect “boyfriend” fit for me. Plus, they are £19.90!

Are you red wearers?

Zara Leopard Print Tassel Loafers

I love these shoes. They remind me of the shoes I used to wear for school. A pair of Black Patent Mock Croc loafers with a thin sole. It was all about the Kickers loafers when I was at school, but I wanted something different and my Next pair lasted me all sixth form.

I bought these in the sale this year for a knockdown £12.99. Amazing given I’m a size 7 and there are never 7’s left!

What I like most about these is that you can wear with dresses or trousers and look smart. The reason I’m wearing today is I’m at World Travel Market, our annual Travel Industry show, and I’m speaking!

I’m wearing them with:
Black & White dress – H&M
100 Denier Velvet-Luxe Tights – M&S

Do you have shoes that remind you of your childhood?

Next Flat Studded Sparkle Sandals

These sandals have been a wardrobe saviour this summer. I’ve worn them casually, and for work (as seen today) and they even came on holiday with us, and were the shoe of choice whilst pounding the pavements of Rome.

I bought them as they reminded me of the sandals I loved last year from Zara (that are now selling for mega bucks on eBay).

I think I prefer these Next ones in a way though as the tan colour suits my skin tone better, making them a true nude shoe for me.

Today, they were in the right place at the right time which is why they were on my feet. I’m wearing them with:

Navy T-shirt – H&M
Black tapered trousers – Roksanda Ilincic Edition for Debenhams

Do you have shoes that remind you of another pair you wish you’d bought?!

Zara Silver Jewelled Slider Flat Sandals

I had my eye on these sandals since I saw them on Alex’s blog. A nice alternative to Glads, but a little too much for a fashion whim just for the summer. However, the Sales came round and there they were, reduced by £17.

However, the buckle on the left shoe was broken, so I ended up getting them for under £10. A bargain which was then fixed for a small sum in the local cobblers.

I like that they are comfortable (the wide strap is supportive) and also smart enough to dress up an outfit. They were one of the “smart” flat pairs I took on holiday this summer that I wore both day and night (small luggage allowance, more on that!).

Today I’m wearing them with:

Black Jersey Biker – Whistles
Floral dress – Monsoon

I’ve had a day of showing Travel Agents around one of our ships in Dover, so needed to be smart and comfortable. It was a gorgeous day in Kent today… The white cliffs were stunning!

Would you wear flats like this for a work event?

H&M Beige Quilted Ballet Flats

Its been a while Readers. I’ve been busy with Weddings, a Wee-Man’s First Birthday and of course regular life and work. I’m definitely spreading myself more thinly now I have a child! Its hard to see everyone and do everything you want to in the time you have!

Today’s shoes are from H&M and I like them as they are neutral and they have some nice gold detail which makes them look a little more expensive.

Its so hard to know what to wear in London when its like LA. a working wardrobe in the heat is not something I’m great at for a mix of cool yet elegant. Plus today has seen me awake from 4am with Calum who just wasn’t into sleeping.

These white trousers from Zara fit the cool bill nicely, but I’ve failed on the top. No time again to find a perfect pairing!

I’m wearing:

Black T-shirt – M&S
White Stripe Trousers – Zara
Starfish Necklace – Tiffany gift from Hubs

If anyone has any recommendations of how to keep cool but stay elegant, they’d be much appreciated!

I’m also posting here my last two week’ Tuesday Shoes Days as I didn’t get round to a full post…

Two weeks ago… LK Bennett Taupe Shiloh Courts

Honestly, the originality here is astounding… Not. These shoes are ten-a-penny in the City!

I’m wearing these with:

Floral Trousers – Topshop
Grey Tshirt – American Apparel
Denim Jacket – TU at Sainsbury’s

Last week… Kurt Geiger Tan Leather Flats

A pair I’ve had for ages but love for the buckle detail. They go so well with this skirt.

I’m wearing with:

Skirt – M&S
Star print jacket – Zara
Silk Blouse – Banana Republic

Hope your days are sunny and stress-free. Mine is going to be hugely caffine fuelled! Normal service resuming hopefully (until next week when I’m on my hollies!)

J.Crew Navy Biella Tassel Loafer

The last day of the month, and therefore the last day of my Flat & Fabulous challenge. It seems an age ago that I got this idea from InStyle Mag.

I’m proud I managed to complete it actually, and also can’t wait to put some heels on tomorrow, especially since the weather is getter better. Summer sandals make me smile!

I LOVE today’s choice. I’ve become a little bit obsessed with J.Crew of late (veeeeeeeeeery dangerous that a store is opening imminently on Regent Street) and whilst I don’t shop there a lot, the style guides give me great outfit inspiration and there are a few pieces that I love, these being one. A 20% off code (Insider20) also helped!

My first pair of loafers were bought whilst I was at school. A black patent mock-croc pair from Next, I loved them to death. Since then, I’ve not really gone out to replace them, but these gorgeous specimens do a great job of that. I was always envious of an ex-boyfriends Oxblood Loafers but these are Navy which means they will go with most colours, and as demonstrated today, they look good with a dress/skirt as well as trousers. The trim is a lovely pink, not too bright but a nice pop, and the leather is so soft.

I love the brands’ “Designed in New York, Made in Italy” ethos. There are some STUNNING shoes on the site at the moment. It really is shoe heaven.

Today, I’m wearing them with:

Navy Blue Ruffle Dress – H&M
Narrow Pink Belt – M&S

I definitely kept the best ’til last for my challenge. Next week I can promise you, I’ll be in heels! YIPEE!
