Geox Marian Black Leather Ankle Boot

Urgh. When will it stop raining? Rich said to me this morning that one of his school friends posted on Facebook “bring back the snow all is forgiven”. She’s right! I’m totally fed up of re-wearing the same shoes as only a handful of pairs keep my feet warm and dry. This is such a pair.

I bought these at the end of 2012 and they have featured on here a few times since. Formal or casual, they’re great – just the right heel height for trotting around town.

Today I’m wearing them with:

Zebra print shirt – Topshop
Black Leather Full Skirt – HM
Black tights – Wolford

I’ve put my hair up today as yesterday I felt bedraggled. Another side effect of the wind and rain. At least this way it stays put.

Tomorrow I’m off to sunnier climes that are South Florida for some time at Head Office and a small jaunt around the Southern Caribbean on Carnival Breeze. Although I’m working I will be glad to see some Sunshine (although wishing my guys were coming with me!)

Rag & Bone Black Suede Newbury Boots

Granted, I only have a jacket on, and no scarf/gloves/hat, but there is definitely that chill in the air. Actually, I don’t mind it at all. I LOVE the Autumn. Maybe its because I was born in October, or perhaps it’s because for me it heralds the start of the renew phase of the year. Whatever it is, Autumn days, you know, those cold, crisp days, blue skies and full sun shining through the beautiful copper, rust, red and gold leaves (ok, I might be going a bit overboard here) are the best.

To mark the drop in temperature I am wearing my Rag & Bone Newbury boots. This is one of those classic styles that will never date, and previously have always been on a lust list due to their price tag. But the lovely Kat brought to my attention that Rag & Bone now have a store at
Bicester and these were in stock at a bargain. (I do love a visit to Bicester and take the chance whenever I’m at my parents as its just down the road).

These are the Black Suede version and I agonised over which to get… the leather or the suede. Suede won in the end as its actually that oily ‘brushed’ suede and the Sales Assistant swung it by saying they look better with tights. Cue… A whole host of other outfits visualised. I was so surprised too that they had all options in my size, and HALF sizes. I’d say these actually come up a bit big and my usual 40 was subbed for a perfect 39.5.

I love the very wearable heel, and the zip detail on the back (which is Rose Gold!). Dare I say the perfect black boot!

Today I’m wearing them with
Black skinny ankle grazer trousers – Zara
Grey spotted button back jumper – Boden (yes I know, everyone has this from the new season selection but I love it!)
Black Velvet Jacket (not in shot) – Vintage “St Michael” (M&S for those that don’t know

I have an Industry awards do to go to later (hence no make up now… does anyone else hate layering make up on top of make up when you can’t get ready properly as much as me?) where I’m presenting an award. YIKES! And the dress code is Vintage Chic (double YIKES!). Hopefully my dress choice will be appropriate. For those that follow me on Instagram, you’ll see how it turns out 😉

Dune Riff Biker Boots in Black

Just a quick post today whilst my hands are still functioning. I am so over this cold weather. The tiny taste of the sun I had a couple of weeks ago whilst out in the Caribbean working was lovely. I’m desperate for Spring!

You may have noticed that posts have been sparse the last couple of weeks and for that I’m sorry. A week working and then half a week spent on a well-earned mini break meant the blog took a back seat.

Today’s footwear of choice are my Dune Riff Biker boots. It’s snowing. Again. These boots are so comfortable, and when I got them Pre-Christmas, they were not off my feet, and were especially good for Pram pushing.

I live that they aren’t too biker, and they are pretty classic in styling and shape, no studs or detailing other than the lovely gold zips. They look good with trousers and skirts, and are smart enough for the office on a normal day (my office at least).

I’m wearing them with:

Black Jewel Cuff Jumper – H&M
Blue & White Stripe Top (just seen) – Cos
Grey Leopard Jogging Trousers – ASOS
Baby (dressed in TKMaxx romper) – My own!

The trousers turned out to be a bit of a disaster today. I’m not sure what’s happened. Either they have stretched or I have shrunk inwards a lot (unlikely!) but they are waaaaaaay too big. Thats why they fall a little weirdly in this photo. My Mum needs to do a little alteration I think!

Normal service resuming on here from now. Apologies again for the hiatus.

Inspired by Denim & Fur

I saw this image of denim styled with a Fur Gilet on Pinterest and had to try and recreate it. I love the simplicity of the black trousers and Denim shirt, finished with the luxe fur, taking the outfit from normal to something a little bit special.

This was an outfit of choice for a family day, post the Christmas extended family activities, where lunch and a walk were in order.

I’m wearing Black Leggings (Next – I particularly like these as they are thick!); dark denim shirt (Calvin Klein Jeans); fur and leather gilet (House of Deron via RBYG in Banstead); black biker boots (Dune).

A longer, less bulky shirt would probably work better, something in Chambray perhaps, and also a Bootie with a small heel (which I don’t own believe it or not!). Shades would also finish off the look but with the ridiculous rain that has cursed is over the Holidays, they weren’t needed for this outing.

What do you think? Good combo, or could do better?
