Alphabet Dating B: Buxted Park Afternoon Tea

It’s been a little while since we’ve done an Alphabet Date and part of the reason was because we wanted to involve our little boy in some of them. Like I’ve said before, #AlphabetDating is about doing things together, and perhaps out of your comfort zone.

Richard picked B and had a few ideas, but this one sat nicely with something we’ve talked about for a while.

We had our Wedding celebrations at Buxted Park (a Handpicked Hotel) back in March 2011. We really could not have hoped for a better setting. The staff were wonderful, especially Marc and Suzanne, and they certainly made it feel like our “house” for the day.

It was therefore Richard’s choice to take us back there for our B date – with baby!

“If you are cold, tea will warm you. If you are too heated, it will cool you. If you are depressed, it will cheer you. If you are exhausted, it will calm you.” William Gladstone, 1809-1898

It was a rainy day yesterday but we had such a lovely afternoon. The welcome by Marc and Suzanne, who were both there, was fantastic, and it was like we were married the week before, not two years previously. Rob the Bar Manager also remembered us and brought us an amazing selection of teas. Rich now has a new favourite in an orange & cinnamon roobios.

The tea was lovely, and even our newest addition had fun (and ate some Scone).

I’d whole-heartedly recommend the hotel for a visit (or overnight stay) if you are in East Sussex. It’s a great base for some of Kent and the South Coast. Plus local attractions like The Bluebell Railway are worth a visit. Make sure you sign up for the HandPicked Hotels newsletter for the latest deals. There are some great ones to be had.

All in all, a fantastic date that ended up being a Family Occasion. You can’t get better than that!
