Framing it

There are few framing solutions out there that I would choose as an affordable solution to hang the pictures and art we love in our house. Often the frame ends up costing twice as much, if not more, than the art itself, making beautifying our home VERY expensive indeed.

Therefore, it is without guilt that I say our go-to solution is the Ikea Ribba frame. Available in a whole host of colours and sizes, they are prefect for most of our projects, and with prices between £2.75 and £16, you can’t go wrong really.

The majority of the pictures in our home, not counting those that are canvases, are framed with these little beauties.

Depending on the room, we favour the Oak Veneer, Black or White frames, but I do also like the Aluminium and Matt Grey finishes. We’ve had to have a few mounts made on some occasions, but I’d rather that than forking out on the whole shebang.

Other surrounds we really like are the Heal’s Black Glass Photo Frames. They give such a lovely smooth contemporary finish to any photo, but they can look a bit heavy. Ours house some black and white photos but I’m not sure colour would work as well.

Do you have a framing solution you defer to for your art?
