New Look for a New Year

You may remember back in October, I mentioned that I would be getting a little help from some friends for my blog. Well, that help came in the form of the Dream. Find. Do Blogging Masterclass I attended in London in November.

Dream. Find. Do – A Blogging Masterclass, is the brainchild of two very experienced Bloggers – Rebecca Norris (below left) from Florence Finds and Michelle Kelly (below right) from Pocketful of Dreams. What these ladies don’t know about Blogging really isn’t worth knowing!

The workshop itself was broken up into two days. Day One focussed on blogging basics with Rebecca concentrating on good blog design, what your blog is and who it’s for, and reminding us constantly that “content is king”. Michelle delved into looking at our blogs as brands in themselves, but what was key for me what the fact that there was much time for workshopping – not just being talked at – the key of a great class for me.

Day Two was all about Photography and Photoshop skills, and although I have done a Frui photography course, a little reminder on how to use my dSLR really helped, plus we got to find out how to effectively use our iPhones – a key skill for a blogger. Who knew what they can do in terms of photos?! The highlight of this day for me was the Photoshop part which was totally practical, meaning I now have all those handy shortcuts that will make it so much easier for me in the future.

The course was so well put together. It absolutely showed that both ladies are passionate about what they do, and certainly practice what they preach. My fellow students were also lovely ladies, and I love the fact that I now have some firm blogging friends, all from these two days. It was all topped off by the fact we received amazing goody bags (supplied by Alphabet Bags), filled with not only the Dream.Find.Do blogging bible, but a very pretty lanyard (made by Pimp It Pretty), some nail polish and a lovely pencil. I do love a good pencil.

I haven’t gone into reams of detail about the course, as where would the surprise be, but if you want to get ahead with your blogging, or have the desire to start, whatever level you are at, this course will really help you. I urge you to keep a look out on the Dream.Find.Do website for the next one, or follow @dreamfinddo for regular updates. You really won’t be disappointed.

So, when will my new found skills be making their way to Love from Cornfield…? The answer is soon. New Year, new start and all that. Keep a look out…

Erin, Love from Cornfield… X
